KIDS GRAPHIC NOVEL
On top of the typical new school jitters, Jack, a third grader, has the added layer of having Cerebral Palsy to grapple with. Once at school, Jack’s worries about how he and his wheelchair fit in fade when he meets, Evan, who is adopted with two dads. Because of the boys’ diverse backgrounds, together they learn that what makes them different also makes them extraordinary!
As a 29 year old disabled-gay man, not only do I think that there is a great interest in this kind of story from an audience perspective, I also think my story is important. A story that is worth sharing between adults and kids alike.
Although my story primarily revolves around disability and LGBTQ issues; it, like diversity, inclusion and equality is about and for everyone - making its reach and appeal wide.
It is my mission to reach my audience at a time when owning and accepting their diversity could change the course of their entire life for the better. My readership will be the inclusion wizards and superheroes of tomorrow. This thought provoking story is both accessible and energizing for all. I hope you will consider joining me in this mission.
